How to grow your hair quickly: Part 2

Now I want to talk supplements. I have always taken a daily multivitamin, but after I made myself look like an extra member of Bon Jovi I decided to amp up my vitamin arsenal for maximum hair growth! I have extra hair growth at the front around  my hairline and my hair is dramatically thicker than it has ever been in my life and I’m certain that adding in these vitamins to my diet has made some of the difference.

I used all of the below. I used all four at the same time but I’m sure you could use one at a time, or two together and still see good results.  I read along the way that horsetail is what Jennifer Aniston used to grow her hair, and if you do a quick YouTube search you will find thousands of videos about biotin.  The links below take you directly to the exact product I bought, all of which are the strongest dosages you can take (and are safe). Obviously, if you want to try a different brand that’s fine as the products will still have the same properties.

Take the vitamins with water and some food (often taking vitamins on an empty stomach can make you quesy).

I need to stress that I am clearly not a Doctor or qualified holistic practitioner so please, if you want to give these items a go, just do a little bit of your own research or or read some of the reviews on Amazon to make sure you’re happy. Although they worked for me, we are not all the same.

This stands for methyl/sulfonal/methane and helps the body produce keratin. Keratin, which I will mention in the other supplements, is essentially a building block of hair. Without keratin, you will have weak, dry hair, so supplementing with MSM leads to keratin production.


Also known as silica, this supplement will strengthen and increase the thickness of your hair. Horsetail contains selenium which directly leads to increased hair growth (hence why it’s rumoured that Jennifer Aniston used it years ago to grow out the infamous Bob).

Phyto phytophanere

This contains vitamins B2, B5, B6, B8, C, E, zinc and borage oil. It is formulated to fight against hair loss and produce thicker and stronger hair. *I believe that this product caused the new hair growth at the front of my hairline as this product ran out first and I didn’t experience any further extra hair growth.


I would say this is the most well know hair growth supplement. It’s also known as Vitamin H and is essential for the metabolism of amino acids, leading to hair production. However, some people do report that taking biotin has led to breakouts so keep an eye on how your skin reacts – I had absolutely no problem.
